(A Phoenix Tech A/V Christmas Poem)
Twas the night before showtime, and all through the hall,
The cables were taped neatly, ran along all the walls.
The speakers were flown with the utmost of care,
In hopes that clear sound soon would fill all the air.
The LED panels were stacked row by row,
Ready to light up with a holiday glow.
The lights hung from truss, patched clean into line,
Each cue softly tested, each fade timed just fine.
The run of show printed, no detail too small,
From walk-up to finale, we had planned it all.
The consoles were humming, the screens shining bright,
While techs made little tweaks, deep into the night.
When out in the ballroom there arose such a sight,
A wash warm and amber—just perfect, not too bright.
We ran one more check, then a mic check, then two,
“Testing, Check, Testing”—yep, that one came through.
The director stood ready, headset in its place,
Calling cues calmly with professional grace.
“Standby on audio… on lighting… on video… AND go!”
The ballroom came alive with such a beautiful flow.
The projectors beamed visions so crisp and so clear,
Each seat in the house had the best view of the year.
No feedback, no flicker, no buzz to be found,
Just smooth, balanced, holiday-wrap around sound.
The planners slept soundly, the clients were pleased,
For Phoenix Tech had handled, the worries with ease!
From gala to fundraiser, from meeting to show,
We made sure the magic was always ready to go.
As the final cue faded and applause filled the space,
Smiles lit the room on each grateful face.
The gear packed up quietly, the load-out went right,
Another event wrapped up tight for the night.
Then heard through the hall as we powered down light:
“Happy Christmas to all—and to all a good night!”
